Sculpture
Using local stone, I transform raw materials into evocative sculptures that celebrate the natural world around me. These stones, with their geological significance, add a layer of depth to my work, connecting each piece to the land from which it originates. The serpentine stone I often use, formed in ancient, boiling seas, provides a poetic backdrop for my pieces, linking the past with the present in a tangible way.
My creative process when carving is both intuitive and meticulous, involving deep engagement with the material and sensitivity to its inherent properties. This approach allows me to uncover the hidden potential within each stone, creating forms that are grounded in reality and imbued with a sense of transcendence.
There will be small works available in the ‘Gallery Store’ later in 2024.
